Can't wait to see stock dyno numbers. Still waiting on my heads. But, plan on pulling the motors Thanksgiving week while I am on vacation.

It looks like the ignition will also need attention because of the rev limiter. I will run the thunderbolt V on the dyno and bounce it off the limit to see where it really is. The Crane hi-6m looks like the way to go, but I need to research this some more.

Thumbs up Re: cam help: 502 with AFR 305cc heads

Pulled my motors over the last two days. Both leaked down acceptably. The cylinder walls look good and one rod and one main bearing from each motor also looked good.

Ready for heads and camshafts.

I have the dyno results from last Saturday, a little more power than I expected from a six year old HP 500 with 270 hours on it. Just did a little carb work and put in rapid fire spark plugs. The rev limiter comes in right after 5400 rpm. These numbers are in full marine dress with wet gill pipes and a short piece of pipe to simulate the exhaust tip, spinning all accesories, sea pump, alterator, circulating pump.

Smitty,
I wish the numbers were a little smaller so I had more room to grow. It is not often you wish the dyno numbers were lower. I will be doing the tear down this weekend if my plans work out.

Wow Wags!
Those are incredible numbers, especially considering you probably have several broken valve springs, leaking head gaskets, etc.!!
=========
And cstraub, the dyno numbers from your buddy will likely happen when we are great grandfathers!! We've been waiting now for 'how long'?

Take care,
Kent
