Strip, take a look at your drive oil reservoirs. One of them may be low.

not sure on newer rigs but older model would indicate bad oil pressure alarm sending unit ...

It does not have the sensor in the drive rez.B max drives

When you turn on the key to crank the motor the alarm buzzer goes off for about 2-5 seconds then goes off . this part quick working .

Its not going off from one of the sensors telling it to. It sounds like the buzzer has gone bad . has anybody had this prob before or the buzzer go bad???

Thanks

Rob

You can disconnect the buzzer and put 12VDC across the two leads and it will buzz if it is good.

If the buzzer is good, you are either missing the +12V that is supplied under the dash somewhere or you are missing the GND that comes from your sending unit switches.

Check your buzzer first, I had one go bad. I believe Mercury wanted $50 and Radio Shack has them for less than $5.

Rob, I read that the buzzer works when you turn the key on and buzzes until it builds up oil pressure, is this correct. If it is, its not the buzzer. If the buzzer does not sound with the key on and the motor not running, its probably just the buzzer. I replaced a few over the years too.

I am pretty sure it not the oil sender. I always turn the key on then let it build fuel pressure ,by that time the buzzer had gone off,I crank it then.

It does sound like it just the buzzer gone bad .

If the buzzer works while its building fuel pressure, how can the buzzer be bad?
