I like stud girdles.
Do you NEED them?
Well, technically, you don't need roller rockers. But they flex less than stamped rockers.
Stud girdles contain the stud flex and will cut down on valvetrain harmonics.
In no way are they "as good" as a Jesel.
But girdles are cheap and they do provide some additional stability.
