No drag screw on those controls. Had the same problem. Take them out of the boat, take apart (carefully) watch out for the little balls and springs. Put something under the springs to shim them up, making the shift stiffer. Worked great for me. Good luck.

Love that bit about the"little balls and springs".Is there a return spring in the shift box,or 2 hence springs.Easy to pull apart?

Be careful when you take this box apart.Remember the way the levers faced. There is a spot for 2 ball and springs on the throttle this will give you a detent for each position of the throttle. If you only put 1 ball and spring you will have 1/2 that.I just rebuilt my control box and it wasnot so bad but I did put it back toegether backwards once. Also when you take it our remember where your cables hooked.

And if you are working on a twin engine setup, be doubly careful. I switched my linkage this summer to make my props spin in and getting the assembly back together was very tricky. Grease helps to hold the little balls in place during reassembly. I will avoid dissassembly of this unit in the future for sure!
