New pleasure boat using resin infusion :)
Please read all of the posts before beating me up too bad.
What an exciting event. The first boat from the mold. 27' deck boat.
For those that are unfamiliar with Trident. They made the leap into the next century with the hull layup techinque.
Gel Coat, Linear Foam core, Minimal layers of propriatery cloth. All put under vacum dry. While under vacuum the resin was infused.
This is a first for the deck boat manufacturing industry. Lighter and stronger than any other hull.
Enjoy these pictures. Register here at their web site for regular updates and the update archives are great reading.

Re: New Hull Manufacturing Technique
The finished hull pic links are down right now apparently.
Here are some pics during the resin infusion. There is a video of this on Trident's site.

Notice the hoses.
I am wondering if thats how they remove the air creating the vacuum.
Pretty cool stuff

Here is a pic off of their site. A composite image during mock up processes. Looks like the operating room.

The hose pipe the resin in and are infused into the core because of the vacuum. The video on the site is really cool as it shows it in process.

Re: New Hull Manufacturing Technique
Well the photo unreliability has driven a dedicated photo gallery. The model, building the plug and mold, also the first boat.

First one I think of is Hinckley who uses SCRIMP. Genmar uses a similar process, VEC.
