Default 502 crankshaft

Ok. Self admitting rookie here.
Question is, can you use a gen 5 crank in a gen 6 block?
Is a 2000 502mpi a gen 6?
Does a gen 5 have a one piece seal?
Is there any difference and if so is there any way to adapt?
Thanks for any help.
This is an awsome site!
