Default Mercury 300x lower units

I have an Avance 33 with twin 300x's with sportmaster lower units. It does 70 mph I was wondering if I would change to fleetmaster lower units if I would gain a little on top since the boat should have more bow lift with the fleetmasters. Also does a longer bracket give you more mph than a shorter bracket? I think with the longer one you have more leverage when you trim.

You may want to repost your question on http://www.ScreamAndFly.com (an outboard forum).

Most of the peeps on this site have I/O's.
