02 powerstroke here. Every 5000 with Mobil Delvac 1 5w-40. If you are using straight dino oil I wouldn't go over 5000 no matter what the manual says. Even with full synthetic I'd reccomend filter change and makeup oil by at least every 5000. You can use oil analysis to know for sure if your interval is too short or long for the oil and filter you choose.

I use Rotella which the best price I found around here is at Sam's Club in a 5 gallon bucket. I change mine every 3000 to 4000 miles.

I would think that a diesel gets fuel dilution quicker than a Gas engine.
Most of your Big truck oil change places use the Rotella
