I went back to Hot Boat and did a search.
I followed the post for a few days as it all unfolded, very sad.
There were four people killed in a 30 foot HTM.
Here is a link to whats left of the unedited posts as it unfolded. Im posting this so others will think of the consequences of running these huge numbers.

I have personally rode in many boats of all sizes and currently have a 35' cafe,so I'm not partial to any brand. I do know magazines routinely lie about boat speeds,and so do most boat owners. I'm also from the SHOW ME state,so I would say from all the facts I've seen running 9.47 at 127 in the quarter mile is pretty serious. It has my vote for the fastest and quickest boat in the 22-26 cat range. It would be hard to fool the IHBA timers. My guess is it took almost 1400 HP to get those kind of numbers.
