Helping Bravo's Live - Detuning
Is it possible to de-tune my 750 hp motors to reduce peak torque and help the bravos live a little longer? I don't want to spend the $15k - $20k right now to do a respectable bravo upgrades until later this year. I never tried to de-tune motors before. I wonder if setting the timing back would reduce peak torque at 4,000 - 4,500 rpms .. my cruising speed. I don't want to go internal to make changes to the motors.

There are two sticks on the dash board..... they are connected to the throttles... move them easily and softly in both directions and you won't have to do anything to the drives................. I'm sorry... I don't mean to sound like a smart-a$$.... but sometimes it's not the torque generated by the horsepower that tears stuff up... but the torque from the larger mass of the crankshaft and flywheel twisting the undersized, underengineered parts in the drive. Hard on... hard off... on the throttles can break parts just as quickly as too much HP.

Am I reading this right???
All these guys spending big money for another 3 hp, and one fish swimming upstream trying to reduce his?
Not trying to be a smart ass either, but it's kind of funny.

if they are blower motors you can put on different pullys to lower the boost......

No blowers.... 600 ci / 750's.
I know the sticks trick ( ), but would like to see if I can reduce peak torque, which is far over the rated capacity of the drives.

Retard the cam a little,
Add another head gasket to reduce compression,,,
Trade motors with me, they are 450HP and certified NOT to break your drives
or I'll buy you new ones
