jdnca:
next time i check on the boat i will measure the drive height in relation to the trailing edge of the hull for you. The p5x raises the stern and does not carry the nose as high; however, the end result leaves less of the boat in the water and you go faster. Next time you run the boat, bring the boat up to full throttle at your normal trim angle then trim it to the point of breaking the prop loose then tuck the drives back under. On my hull this really packs the air into the tunnel - it is good for 2-3 mph depending on load and wind direction!!!!!!

Fast;
Thanks for the info, really looking forward to hearing where your drives are. I already utilize the over trim / tuck in trick

The Switch To The Imco Lower Fixed The Problem And The Boat Ran 111mph With The Non Labbed 30p And Now Runs 117 With The 30p Px5. The Boat Planes Better With The Px5 , Accelerates Harder And Feels More Solid In The Turns. I Really Believe The Stern Lift Helps The 28 To Fly Better Once We Got The Lower Unit At The Right Height. I Do Not Believe That My Boat Could Plane Off With A 34p Bravo Because It Still Planes Very Slowly With A 32p Labbed Bravo 1.

Were your 496's standard or ho's? I'm surprised you didn't get a little more than 90 with the boxes. I guess it's all in the set up. Very impressive #'s though with the 620's!

FASTCASH,
You're getting some good speeds with your setup. Are you running a windshield? I hear that cost a couple of mph.
I'm interested in your X too. Would you measure the distance between the center line of your prop shafts?
I'm running boxes and shorties. I think my prop shafts are even with the bottom. It's been a while since I checked.

Rbtnt,
I Will Be Able To Get Those Measurements Next Week And Will Post. I Currently Run A Windshield, And I Have Heard The Same About It Running Slower With The Shield.

Re: 28 Daytona speed options... What works best?
I talked to Dustin Whipple today, he said if I added their stage 2 kits to my 28 with 496 ho's, I'd most likely see a 3 mph gain with the same stock 30p bravos. He also stated that the boat should be a little snappier with hole shot and mid-range. The 2 kits would be $1590 + tax. This sounds pretty reasonable...

I do have a question though? Would I gain any mid-range speed if I leave the props stock? For example, currently I run 60 mph at 3500 rpm. With the kits added, what speed could I expect at 3500 rpm?

I would think with the added power, what use to take 3500 rpm to go 60, would now take less rpm's. Thus, you would be going faster a 3500 rpms now? Am I looking at this right?
