engine covers
Anyone having any luck finding www.customcowlings.com ? They supposedly market the polished custom engine covers for the new Mags. It's a great idea if they do exist. Ad in the back of the most recent Powerboat. Unless they're priced rediculous, this would be a great way to dress up my 353 with black motors. With the mirrored hatch already there, and nice clean rigging, I think I'd get alot of effect out of those covers. Anybody know anything about them???

Re: engine covers
I was checking out their website last week. I am repowering with a 496 and I'm considering one of those cowlings. I think they cost around $250. That seems reasonable.

Re: engine covers
I hadn't checked in the last couple weeks, earlier in the month their website wasn't up yet.
O.K...so who's gonna be the first to stock a quantity and discount them? TooOld?
I take it they are all stainless? and the colored ones are powdercoated? or anodized?
I'm not real hot on the designs...I think the "checker" one is the most tolerable, that or the "flame". Though it is a good idea for dressup, and will no doubt sell well. To call the one finish "chrome", if it is polished stainless, is confusing.
Anybody knows/finds out anymore post here.

Re: engine covers
polished ones with the "FasTech" logo or "FORMULA" (or both) either across or corner to corner would be my #1 choice. They'll really have to do some manufacturer specific stuff you'd think, at least the larger builders at first.

Re: engine covers
I just ordered a polished stainless set last week. Four designs to choose from as seen on the website. Also come in four basic solid colors. Blue; yellow; red; purple; polished stainless; or prepped to custom paint on your own..
The designs are actually cut out in the metal and everything includig the tool comes with the package. Currently they're $249 plus shipping, or free shipping if you order for twins. I think they're awesome looking and the owner was great to talk to.
Vortec's are simply butt-ugly. They would be a downgrade in looks in my opinion.
