Is it possible to convert manual bolsters to electric?
I've never heard of anyone doing this, but are there kits available to convert a manual bolster seat to electric?

Don't know about kits available, but the concept is easy. Most I know of have space designed into the back to accommodate the small electric motor and actuator. They also have SS tubes or plates to attach the end of the actuator to. I may have my McLeod's opened up in the next few months, and could snap pictures if needed.

anything's possible.
You just need a 4" to 6" stroke 12v actuator. Probably a 100 pound force model.

I did this on a 31 Sonic with McLeod bolsters. You just have to make sure that there is room up inside of the seat to mount the motor. The seats that I had were set up for electric with all the mounting hardware up inside so it was a pretty simple job. Without that hardware I'm not sure what you would be able to attach the motors to up inside the seats.

I don't know if I would bother. I thought they were cool too when I got my Sonic but one day I was sitting down and hit a wave a little harder than I expected.
Well, the mount for the jack screw broke and I hit the floor. I made a bolt on mount out of steel to replace aluminum piece that broke.
It works good but in anything but flat water, I'm standing.
