Optima Batteries
I am wanting to change out my regular batteries for a pair of blue tops. Any suggestions on group size and the best deal on batteries and boxes. They are going in my 32' BT w/ 454 mags. Any suggestions on what to buy and where. I'm between LOTO and St. Louis. Thanks !

If you have shore power, make sure that the battery charger is suitable for the Optima (read this for more info). If you have top mount cables with ring lugs you're going to want the D34M. Check here for all you'd ever want to know about Optima. Their prices aren't great, but there's free shipping and no sales tax unless you live in Nebraska.

I bought a pair of Optima 34Ms' for my 540 ci. With twin engines. The best deal I found was:

These guys offer a good price, no tax, and free shipping. You can get a pair of 34M's delivered to your door for $390.
The Optimas definitely aren't as strong as a comparable lead-acid battery, but they weigh only half as much too...
