GLSCS Ballots

Re: GLSCS Ballots
I've been wondering the same thing. The Grand Haven race isn't listed on the OSS website, so I would assume GLSCS is hosting it. The only references I've ever seen on this race is in GLSCS postings.
GH is a great host town for racing... Lake Michigan race course, awesome fan turnout, good party spots. I'm also two-time winner there in P4 class.
No schedule at all on the GLSCS website. Mr. Bloom, are you out there?
Cheers,
Brian

Re: GLSCS Ballots
To all of the Racers of the GLSCS:
After much deliberation, the Executive Board of the Great Lakes Silver Cup Series has voted to moth ball the Series for the 2005 racing season. This decision was based on the results of two polls of the racing members and reflects the lack of commitment from our teams to participate in the events that were scheduled. Without the commitment from the Racers, it would be unfair to the Race Site Producers, Sponsors and Fans and volunteers to go forward with this year’s events. To say that this decision saddens us would be an understatement, as all of the members of the Board have worked very hard over the past two years to continue to raise the level of professionalism of the GLSCS as a sanctioning body which provides safe and exciting racing for our Teams, Sponsors and Fans. The current Board will maintain the Series Website and will be available for contact at the end of the 2005 Season should there be teams interested in supporting a 2006 GLSCS.
We would like to thank anyone who has participated in the Series and wish all Teams the best of luck in the up-coming year.
Board of GLSCS
Andrew Bloom (Chairman)
Ed Smith (Vice Chairman)
Kathy White (Secretary/Treasure)

That's very unfortunate. And from the tone there may not be a GLSCS in 2006 and beyond. Hopefully the racers will find places to race and maintain some interest so that GLSCS makes a comeback.

Re: GLSCS Ballots
The GLSCS will be supporting the event in CAPE COD with OPA, the race in ST.CLAIR Michigan and Louisville, Kentucky. OUr Med./Saftey people will be on site to lend a hand and a few of our volunteers. We're not going away just taking some time to re-group.

Re: GLSCS Ballots
The Mentor race is cancelled. And the GLSCS will not be involved in Grand Haven if it does happen this season. This has nothing to do with Grand Haven or any of the other race-sites. We just do not have the boat support to pull things together. You need 25-30 boats to put on a good show, we had 10 committed.
