Re: Reliable's Orange Beach DQ set aside
A very wise decision, and proof that democracy and due process works.
1.) The OSS inspectors did the right thing by pulling drives, including those of OSS board members.
2.) Mike Tomlinson did the right thing by DQing Reliable on the grounds of an illegal part. No favoritism to an acting board member and a very prominent figure at OSS. Nobody overruled Mike.
3.) Tom did the right thing by filing a proper appeal.
4.) The OSS board did the right thing by bringing in non-board members to the appeals committee, ensuring again that no favoritism is given. No OSS Cat racers were on the panel.
5.) The appeals committee made the right decision, based on the fact that while the part was and will be illegal, Reliable had been given erroneous information by an OSS inspector. OSS assumed responsibility for the actions of one of their officials, and cleared Reliable. Complete text at http://www.offshoresuperseries.com/r...able093005.pdf
6.) OSS did the right thing by learning from their mistakes and tightening up their procedures. see http://www.offshoresuperseries.com/techmemos.shtml
