Hey Mike,
Disclaimer - Nothing in the above post was intended to bash, put down, discredit or negatively affect any racing organization in any way.
I walked away from the SBI New York race wondering how that boat could be that much faster than the other Fountains if they are all supposed to be running the same power, same hull design and props....
Look at this lead and they aren't even around the 2nd turn into the race???

Trash,
Fastest laps:
Rio 91.8
Instigator 90.1
Miccosukee 88.3
Rodriguez 87.3
Joe Boxer 86.3
Taboo 85.6
Rio averaged over 4 mph faster over the other 6 Fountain's fastest speeds.
Other than Instigator being at 1.7 mph slower than Rio's time,
all the other Fountains were 3.0, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.2 miles per hour slower than the Rio boat.
I am I the only one that sees this?
The timing stats seem to be consistant with my lap times I have recorded. There was some difference but not a whole lot.
Not knowing exactly what the course distance is can play a factor.....
Whole shot? Not in my opinion...
12 second lead over Instigator before entering Turn 2 of the 1st lap??? Things that make you go hmmmm....

Re: Latest news from corpus christi
Hi All,
I have a 'newbie' question:
I want to take my boat to this event (as a spectator) but I don't know what to expect. Will I be able to get anywhere near the race or am I better off watching from shore? How to they police spectators? Any advice about spectating from a boat would be much appreciated!!!!

Funny Sharkey I was thinking the same thing about Spiderman...But we know why he is so fast, and the class voted against it and he is still running the same gears...

Usually view from a boat gets you closer to the action, however the corpus race I belive will come close to shore, there are patrol boats to keep spectator boats at a safe distance.......check with OSS staff this is their hometown and they will have the facts...you might want to volunteer as a patrol boat you will be in the front row!

Here's the chart of the course. According to the OSS site, because of heavy ship traffic, either of these courses may be chosen the morning of the race.
