Viper,
Here is the quote right from the Home page of OSS.
Did you not read the entire paragraph?
"Hot off the presses: - Destin race cancelled due to dredging - Season's opener will be Pickwick, May 6 - 7 - Destin will host OSS Worlds Nov 5 - 12 2006 Full release to follow"
Also see thread below:

Re: Destin Cancelled?
I know when we submit for a race permit with the CG, The permit has to be in 132 days prior to the event. no exceptions. A lot can happen in four and a half months. Once that permit is filed, you are stuck with that date and area. Promoters nightmare when something goes wrong. All I have to say from an organizers point of view, the race sites are difficult to develop, and harder to get money from. Any organization can have these problems. I guess what I am trying to say is, the race promoters go through a lot to organize these races for the racers. When something goes wrong, there is no blame to place........Shi# happens. Just support whom ever you race with. There is the other side of the coin where the promoters do pull off an event, and the boats dont show. Who is at fault then? Smitty
