Just received word that Offshore legend and entrepreneur Al Copeland passed away today of salivary cancer. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Terribly Sorry To Hear About Al's Passing. Being From The Same Area, I Would See Him Bunch Of Times Jogging Behind His Home On The Lake Levee.. Offshore Powerboat Racing Just Lost A Great Legend... Sal, Metairie, La.

From the Board of Directors and staff of the Gulf Coast Power Boat Associaiton, Orange Beach, Alabama, our thoughts and prayers to Al's family and friends.
Having had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Copeland during a poker run with Gary Nichols several years ago and again speaking with him at the Destin OSS Worlds last year, I can say I have been in the company of greatness.
I know he is now in no pain and is smiling down upon us with those whom we have lost in days gone by.
Rest in Peace Big Al...
