Default Victory vs. Doug Wright hull?

Just out of curiosity how does the New Victory hull stack up against the New Doug Wright?

I am also interested in how the Ocke hull will do. Very cool to see manufacturers being new product to a top notch stage like SS.

The victory hull is the Ocke hull. Victory is now building that design. The Doug Wrights that are racing there now are a few years old. I f you were to take GB' TNT there or the Stihl boat there you would have the boat to beat for sure. The newer design DW's would do extremely well over there.

Cool

From what I was told Ocke was contracted by Victory. I may be mistaken but I think that is the deal.

the ocke/victory has their hands full with the old DW, they don't want the new ones coming over... the 32 DW are also the biggest boats over there and all the races now are pretty smooth courses in near the shore for the specators, they have a plan for a new hull to capitalize on that if gary or somebody else builds a new one for over there, a little more smooth water speed if you will.

in the rough, none of them really hang with the old mojo boat or gary's...

Doug has some new bottom ideas that he has not tried yet to make the boats even faster in the calm water. Sounds like they would also turn alot harder as well. If someone were to build one and race it over there, i think the ocke/victory boats would have their hands full!

Thumbs up

Gino,

Not for sure actually why he uses the amount free board that he does but his newer designs seem to be using a little less free board then his previous models. Along with the bottom changes that have increased the speeds of his design Doug uses a lot of his knowledge from his degrees and also racer input to better his models. His deck and free board have aerodynamic characteristics that help the boats run the way they do.

Cool

Also many deck designs from here in the states help with the aerodynamics of the hull and deck combination's. If you notice some of the designs here in the states have very distinctive lines(DW and MTI) which all helps in the over all design.
