You will be given an average speed you must maintain, a start time (documented as you leave), and a map and directions for the course you will travel. Your finish time will be logged at your return. The tech officials will calculate your achieved average speed based on actual running time and true distance known only by tech officials. Closest average speed attained to average speed assigned will be the winner. Miles per hour below the assigned average are taken at face value. Miles per hour above the assigned average are penalized at double the face value and recalculated.
Average speeds will be calculated at less than 50% of your top speed. (This is a fun event and not meant to burn up your equipment). The course will involve various water conditions, making an assigned average speed a challenge to maintain.

PRIZES: Checkered flag/trophy

SUNDAY EVENT DESCRIPTION: This is a poker run with a twist. Four stops can be taken in any order to avoid congestion. A navigator’s questionnaire will be given to each boat (one per boat). For those who pay attention, the answers can be found on the Delta around you.

Todays event was excellent. Not alot of boats but very well run by POPRA. Van did an incredible job.

Mind you today was a timed rally that tested navagation skills.

Congrats to Twister for taking third place on the long run.

We took second (only 24 seconds off of our planned time) on the short run. It was 52.9 miles, and our average speed was to be 48. Trying to run the exact route on water is much more difficult than on land to get the right distance at the right speed.

While fun, there was also a good amount of luck involved.
