Status as of Monday morning:
The incident during the race is under review. Team Winnebago and Team Typhoon both made statements to APBA chief referee Mike Tomlinson.
The decision to DQ Typhoon at the Kilos is also under review. APBA was notified by the Coast Guard that Randy & Glenn had been driving outside of the channel.
On the cooling issue: Mercury took readings from the engine computer and they are investigating.

Rummy,
I think you wanted to say that the Vortecs have been running for 2 years "without" overheating with the closed cooling system.
Typhoon runs a Merc 525. It is not a Vortec engine. The Vortec will do the same thing if it overheats. Just ignore me, I'm rambling.

After hearing all the "facts" and hearing what others saw, here is my take on the deal....
Randy and Glenn are very talented professionals. In this case, they messed up, plain & simple. They knew it and openly admitted it. Those of you that have actually raced in organized offshore competition know that there is no such thing as a perfect race every time, especially in challenging water conditions and extreme heat & humidity.
It could have been a really bad deal. Fortunately Mark and Gino are also very talented professionals and avoided a potential catastrophe. Besides, the overheating Mercury 525 seems to have inflicted an instant penalty assessment on the Typhoon team anyway.
The answer?
Randy and Glenn should buy a bottle of Crown Royal, and award it to Mark & Gino, while on their knees asking forgiveness...
Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand penalties.

Doug,
I still got my training wheels on when it comes to partying, that's why I was hanging with you guys.
You'all are some highly trained professionals.

The condition I was in Sunday? No way!
The club hitting the ball would have sounded like a nuclear explosion, right between my ears, next to where the drill bits were turning...
