Default Onboard radios during races

We would like to get frequencies for the radios used during races. We can scan for them but would prefer to have the frequencies pre programmed before the events. We try and attend every race we can both SBI and APBA.Thanks for any help!Jim and Tammy

By convention, Race Control is at VHF 78A ... for you scanner freaks, that would be 156.925

We use private band radios supplied by a rental outfit. They pick the bands so it changes each time. If you can find racecom they may be able to give you the frequencies although the privacy is one real advantage of the radios. Racers use 78 from the boats to racecom.

Jim and Tammy,
Some of the teams use a seperate VHF frequency such as channel 1 or 3 etc for there crew to boat conversations. A suggestion would be to go up to one of the crew guys with spotting equipment around his head and just ask for their channel, they shouldnt have anything to hide, all of the top secret stuff is handled at the shop.
