I couldn't have said it any better myself, LOBSTERBOY. Those five are my picks, exactly.

1. The freindships you build - watching the racers get out of the One Design boats for the first time!

2. Going after the Flag, especially in equally prepared boats where your lead is only a few yards.

3. Traveling all over the country doing something you love - and allowing others to experience it.

4. Rough Water

5. Watching the whole team celebrate when it is all over - knowing they all worked 16 hr days for the last week to make it happen.

Wink

1. Seeing Lobster Boy drunk at the bar
2. Racing my own 28 Joker and watching Warren and Mack race the hell out of their 28 Joker.
3. Checking out 160 bowling shirts at the drivers meeting and 2/3 of them all look alike.
4. Heading down I-75 South with race boat in tow.
5. The illustrious checkered flag and $ 5.00 trophy in my hand. BH

When I raced, I enjoyed:

1. Coming on plane as the pace boat past in front of the milling area.
2. Listening to the engines screaming behind me.
3. Talking endlessly over the intercom to my other two riding team mates.
4. Listening to Will Smith in the back seat making jokes to ease the tension.
5. Passing the first place boat just a half mile from the finish line.

Now that I'm on the organizing side of things.

1. Writing emails to bring out the volunteers and pump up the racers prior to each race.
2. Running around the wet pits and getting everyone off the docks on time.
3. Running out the inlet in the pace boat.
4. Holding the line up for a long run down the beach under yellow until everyone is lined up before giving the green flag.
5. Writing a race recap article until 2am so it's in everyone's email box in the morning.

What I really enjoy most these days is once the race has started, watching the race from the pace boat and keeping an eye out for accidents. Then being able to be the first to respond and keep my buddies safe so they can race another day.

1. Offshore Racing is in the North East

2. Safety is covered by some of the best EMTs around.

3. Competition and Breaking Chops is present at all times.

4. The dedication of all the Volunteers that come out to put the race on.

5. SINGLE OUTBOARD BOATS "SOBs" 21 ft to 24ft Vee Bottoms now have a place to give a True Entry Level Racer a start in Offshore without a whole lot of expense.
