Bruce,
The APBA rule book makes you add 125lbs per foot in length, example a 26 Kryptonite with HP500 had to weight 4600 but a 29'10" Superboat had to weight 4975lbs I have been fighting this rule for 3 years, it wasn't until this year (don't quote me on this) when Steve M tested Jim's Scheer's 29 Warlock that he understood how much the weight was killing us specially with acceleration. This year Randy with the 525 had to weigh 4950lbs and John and I had to weigh 5350lbs, the boat weighs 4600 dry so you can see how much lead we had to add. If you were at the PT. Pleasant you would have seen John and John Jr. win that race even before Randy and Glenn broke.
The 1+1+1 concept stood for 1engine 1 weight and 1 drive, most of us F1 guys were really pushing for this to bring the polarity back to F1, we all voted on this and when it came to witch engine to run it all fell apart, This is my favorite class and I hope it all get straiten out.

Thanks Eddie,
I didnt realize you had to add weight just because you were running a bigger boat. Learn somethin everyday.
I could see how the 1 1 1 rule would have benefitted you
