My advice to you is don't do it. Everyone thinks its a great deal on an old boat until you have to re rig it.When you are done you will have spent way more than you intended to. Its cheaper to buy a newer boat thats been raced but the owner had to sell. Point of ref. the Geco F1 boat sold for aprox $50,000. Now that was a steel in my book. Good luck in your search.

We certainly do not sell beaters, but we will be leasing boats in California for $3500 at the POPRA Races. for information, call or email (513) 706-3199. [email protected]
We also sell the boats from $40,000 used to $109,000 new.
Thanks,
Chris Reindl

I agree with Grumpy Puppy.
Some times (most times) a good deal on a boat, is not such a good deal. Especially if you have to re-rig and try to be competitive in a specified class. By the time you get done, it will have cost you more than a brand new boat and you still dont know if you will be competitive.
There are plenty of bare hulls out there. And they may seem to be dirt cheap. But take it from me too, Buy a complete boat . And you'll have less problems and spend less money in the long haul.
I think Randy is speaking from current experience as well. by the time he gets done rigging the Extreme, it will have cost him as much or more than a brand new boat.
Just food for thought from people that have been there.
The only exception to the rule is if your doin all the work yourself and you buy your parts dirt cheap off the board.
It may take you longer, but youll be in the boat for alot less money.

Nice to hear from Randy again.
There was a time that the Gecko boat could have been had for around $40K. Regardless, someone got a good deal. Good luck to them.

Jonas,
Nice to see you are looking for a boat. There are good deals to be had, just be careful. Just so the rest of you know, Jonas ran his boat in P4 last year with POPRA.
You have seen my bat, I would suggest if this is the route you would like to go, talk to Chris.
When running 80+ you want a canopy. Think of the fun we could have.
Best wishes,
Rick

We have a Gladiator that is dialed in ready to race in F2 or Performance classes. It is listed in the For sale forum and boattraderonline.com. We are selling it at a very aggressive price. Not a beater, actually perfect, turn-key and ready to rock (win).............
