Klaatu won. I was too scared to race, those sand banks had left me deeply concerned.
Rumor has it that Klaatu has been signed as deputy driver of Reliable. (Picture: Klaatu & Gilbreath.)

Well, the inofficial version is that I was scared that the wiring project from hell would not get finished.
The official version was that these water depths had me deeply worried. They brought back a childhood scare, and the Typhoon team psychiatrist advised against the race ...
So Klaatu & Jerry blasted off w/o me, and a great time was had.
The interesting part is that Reliable had clocked the boat at 85 MPH with one engine, so it would have been a close match. Maybe the duel will be repeated.
