Nothing like a challenge. Even Ray Charles said this boat was unstable. It has been that way from the first test. We change one thing at a time to understand what change it is making and it gives us the ablility to go back if we need to. So far we have not gone back.

So far there have been 15 bottom changes. Every change has been positive to the boats handling. (It does not stuff anymore) The aero changes that were done to Nigel's boat and the cg change helped it two fold this year and we are doing the same changes to Verns boat.

When this boat is done it will be very tough to beat, I just hope there is still a class to run it in. Vern is dead against running (pink) motors as he terms them and I agree with him after all he is an engine builder.

Sharkey,
I remember those boats in Dubai. That is where I met Doug. That one shot looks like Abu Dhabi harbor.
Is that a plug or how the boats were made?

Pat... if I offended you in my question it was not meant to so.... Like I said initially...it was out of curosity (I figured you would answer with how you were going to accomplish it).

Actually the boats were lofted. No plug and no molds.

Steve Koss would frame it out then build the boats onto to the frame work. Once all glassed up he would remove the frame work.

The Great Adventure won the S-Class World Championship and it was then sold overseas.
From what I hear, the boat has over 125 races on it and was unbeatable. At that point they changed the rules by shortening up the length on the class making several of those boats illegal to run.

No offence taken, It was an honest question.

What do you (everyone) think of the mods we are doing? Does anyone have some more input?

We are starting with a roll cage that will be secured to the hull. It will interlock with the outer skin to gain some rigidity. I am borrowing on what Kid-stuf (Colby) did when He redesigned the top of his 36. It will weigh a little more but it will be very safe. I am more worried about another boat landing on top than deflecting air and water.

I like the lofting.
That boat used to fly. It seems to be the norm in offshore to ban ideas that work or go against the norm.
