Build dates don't matter, it is a matter of luck and hope the previous owner took good care of it. My truck came from Louisiana, and had great maintenance record(I looked it up on OASIS) and still had tons of problems, ended up replacing the whole motor.

People get build dates confused and don't really know much about them. Some of the earlier features on the truck were better, because the MCR's hasn't been enforced on the truck yet.. Most of the stuff is just people think they know what they are talking about....

Either way, any kind of tune over 100hp will crack a piston, ask me how I know!

Breaking news:

"Ford dealerships are giving away free dogs with any purchase of an F-series truck, so that you have someone to walk home with when the truck breaks down."

You guys are serious about your trucks lol...I gotta think they are all pretty similar...it's personal preference...I've been in a lot of different trucks and don't currently have one, but I'm kind of partial to a ford truck...plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but ford didn't take any government money when the auto industry was hurting.

Awe geez, now I have to sell my truck and buy a Ford, I feel so guilty driving a Government Motors. As long as I get the free puppy as stated above, I'll be ok, we could use a few sled dogs around here.
