My 1" spacers seem promising.... slip is down to 11% and carrying the bow well. It does seem touchy steering wise. Hard to explain but if you barely turn the wheel she likes to lean into that side even tho you are virtually running straight. Maybe it's a 388 thing?

Nauti Girl? Charlie Shaffer's old boat from LOTO? If memory serves Charlie tried shorties (no boxes) and the boat didn't like it. Will be interesting to see how it runs when you're done.

You guys that are trying shorties and you say the boat didn't like them is it just that the boat is hard to get on plane?
If that is the case WHY don't you modify the drive for more negative trim to put the prop deeper in the water to help get on plane.
It worked for me on two boats.

My boat is still not complete. I'm pretty sure I will not be able to report back until next spring. I just had one hurdle after the other, and poof like that the summer is gone

Knot... yep Charles/Coley's boat. I watched him run his new boat via streaming video this past weekend, pretty cool. Too bad it wasn't in person and too bad I didn't run Nauti Girl...

Always loved Nauti-Girl! Was slipped next to my buddy's boat at LOTO at Parkview Bay back in the day. Have had a beer or two with Charlie. Quite the character! Loved his little saying on the back of the 388. Saw many a woman pass by his boat at the docks and get all huffy about it! Didn't know he had the Cig and is slipped where we stay at Land's End now. Missed seeing his new ride on the dock and on the course. Will pay more attention next year!
