the looks and space it got I love, about the handling and performance I can't tell you because I bought it as a project whitout power and drives ,but I did a lot of research before I figured out I want a hustler.
What I found on forums ,magazines and from owners it is a great rough water boat and one of the fastest V hull ,she had two bleu 500 carb in it tweaked a little to 600 hp each and did a 90+ according to the last owner.
I am know do a complete redone and put in two cummins diesels 320 hp each which I can upgrade to 385hp.
the diesels I do because of the high gas prices here in europe
almost $7 a gallon !
I hope I can tell you more in 3 months about the handling and performance

I would think the twin Cummins diesels will be a lot heavier than a pair of big blocks. I would be curious as to how it will effect the balance.

32storm,

That s why I chose the qsd 4.2 and not the 5.9 ,
the 4.2 are 406 kg /1014 lbs each so that s pretty much the same as a big block .
It wont be a flying one but hope to get some where arround 70-75 miles out of here but it will be much better on feul consumption.

by the way I found your name a lot on different hustler forums ,and you know very much about these boats ,particular on the 32's learned a lot reading your posts !

thanks for that and the input on this one !

happy newyear,

bor

What drives will you be running with the diesels?

Also if you do a search on "Diesel Demon" you will see a 38 Slingshot that Joe, the owner of Hustler, ran.
