I wish. Its a full-on silver FX8 version with 725/Indy's, apparently headed to a US customer. Estimates are in the 72 mph range...

I have to admit that diesels would be my first choice for a 400SS, and that I would have expected the first Ilmor/Formula project would have been a 382. Still, it's great to see that these two great companies have started working with each other. Competition is great for the consumer, and Ilmor builds a great line of engines beyond the V10's. It would be great to see some of Ilmor's 430 hp/6.2L LS-based inboards in some Formula PC's...

I guess
at 48 MPH (Top Speed 400 SS with Diesel)
the Ilmor`s will not use way more fuel than the Volvo D 6 `s
42 gal/h for twins (Volvo D6 at WOT @ 3600 RPM)
since at this speed the 400 with twin 725`s will be at similar RPM- maybe 4000- with 2300 left to WOT and in most efficient midrange RPM
