Saw a thread awhile back on how there is a formal complaint you can fill out and give to some state insurance regulatory body. Apparantly the Insurance company will be assumed to of acted inappropriatly until they prove otherwise and its a big hassle for them, so they will usually not try and fight it and issue a settlement.

yep, call your state insurance commisioner. that starts the clock for the insurance company to respond and try and satisfy you.

Damn, I hate to see that. You must live over near Lady Lake where one of my best boating buddy's dad lives. Turn at that Sunoco on Hwy 27 and something airport road. We got lucky as hell that night. I fell asleep in my chair, and it just so happens, Debbie left the TV on the news channel. I would have thought we were under mortar attack. I could hear the roaring across the river from us. Debbie's Donzi stays in the garage, but it just so happens I pulled it out to start it that day, and it was sitting out front. At one point, the weather radar showed that huge cell right on top of us. I've lived in Florida most of my life, and I had never seen, or heard anything like that. It just missed us, crossing the river just south of us.

Good luck with the insurance company. As was said, if they give you a run around, call the insurance commisioner. I've done it before.
