Maybe I can help. We have a couple of good markets for high performance boats in Louisiana and I will be happy to get you a quote......hopefully, one you can live with. When you get a chance, please give me a call.
Thanks!

The insurers wrote quite a few checks to boat owners in Louisiana a few years back and my guess is that they're still a bit nervous.
If insuring boats in coastal areas was a lucrative proposition, you'd see a rush of companies looking to write the business. Add on top of that the dramatic increase in speeds and the follow-on accidents that we've seen in the last few years, I'm sure the actuaries are pretty puckered up these days.

Its not just Louisiana, pretty much all gulf coast states are getting tougher to insure thanks to the rash of hurricanes and the jackass's that just leave their boats behind.

I feel your pain brother: I am trying to buy and 08 38Lght, with 525 the numbers on the boat are palatable. But MAN-O-MAN insurance is a JOKE. No problom I can get it but man do I have to pay. Elton Porter wants 6200 a yer with NO- WINSTORM, that means not only a h-cain but a tornado or lets say a loss due to any squall, like a spring storm! However, Marine Underwriters has come thru and saved the day. For a mesley 12K a year and a 3% deduct I can get the coverage
I want. The thinking is if you can afford the boat and the fuel the insuarnce is just a formality. It looks like I wil be staying with my 06 35Lght with 496s, its still down at 1700 a year. It is TABOO to break the 1000 hp catagory and live on the Gulf Coast. No wait, I have the answer KEEP YOUR BOAT at LAKE MEADE

GCAT911........Not sure who you spoke with at EP, but the "Windstorm Exclusion" refers to "Named Storms" only like a Hurricane or Tropical Storm. All other storms like tornadoes, spring storms, ect are definitely covered. If you have any questions, please give me a ring.
Thanks!

EMPOWER out of AZ says they will write coverage on the 08
Fountain 38 with 525s for an agreed upon value of 280K + 7K on the trailer. This includes WINDSTORM with a 14K deductable on the windstrom and you have to submitt a
H-caine plan. For an annual premium of 5552.00.
