Default Gieco boat insurance

Anybody else ever get a quote from them? For my formula 353 with 525s the quote was $6869 a year.

Use a marine specific agency. I quoted my boat against my home/auto insurer and it was 4X the amount compared to marine exclusive carrier.

I didn't think any of the big companies would insure blue motors.

You may have gotten a quote but once you go to bind the coverage they might send it to underwriting and it will likely get rejected.

insurance are really rising.
my insurance on my same boat doubled in the last 10 years!!!

and when i shopped around, other company would either say no, or they were more expensive...

and remember... no speeding tickets ever, no claim ever wether we are talking cars, trucks boats... no claim at all !!!

and when i tell them they are getting more and more expensive, they tell me i am lucky just to raise a littler higher because i am a good customer with no claim...

does not make sense... and they also say we are all paying for the accidents but also all the tornado hurricane claims that happen in the last couple years...

wish i could find a place that would only do liability, but i did not find that yet...

That's what I hate about the whole insurance scam....when there is a big claim/disaster the buck just gets passed to the other paying customers. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for all those people that lost homes, cars, loved ones, etc but the insurance companies are honestly making out on the whole thing. They pay out then raise everyone's rates to recoup the money and then never lower them back down when the money has been recouped. The whole point of insurance is to make you whole if the worst should happen not to just line the pockets of the insurance companies. There's no way even with all the disasters and big claims that any of these companies are losing money. My rates recently went up and the reason from my agent was inflation and the economy....it's ridiculous...I didn't get a new product or however you want to say it, I have the same plan with the same coverage...how is that affected by inflation!?? I can understand a new truck the policy will be more since the cost of vehicles is going up but my truck, boat, whatever is NOT increasing in value to warrant a higher premium, it's just not. All just a scam really.

These are just my opinions and sorry for the rant....I'll get off my soapbox now hahaha
