SuncoastDave:
Speeds with a 500 efi are high 70's , like 78.9 to be exact when I raced Factory 1. That's at race weight though. Should see close to 83-84 w/ 525(never had a 525 in our boat). The 28 Joker is a serious rough water boat though , runs more like a 35 footer due to the cockpit set back. Check PM.

I don't have the new JOKER, but I have the predecessor to it when it was built as PROTOTYPE. It's rigged with a 500efi and full interior -cocpit/cabin. Speeds are 74-75gps with 1/2 tank gas, rafts, clothes, cooler etc. The boat handles exceptionally well in rough water. I would NOT HESITATE to buy a new JOKER in the future especially with the improvements Brian has implemented. That interior is outstanding! Wouldn't mind upgrading to that this winter.
By the way...we're in the middle of a new motor build up for the boat to install this winter. 550+ cu.in. + 1071blower=850-900HP. Can't wait to see how she runs. Just picked up an extension box as well.

We are Master Planning the whole 26 acres into a New Waterfront Resort, starting from the ground up. Residential, Restaurant, Retail, and Marina. The Restaurant will be out on the Point with 180 degrees view of lake with Decks & Patios, and the fuel dock as a long Pier in front. Hopefully will have plans and drawings at the January Boat Show. Call me for your Free Tickets. Barkley

Sounds Great! Will do. Hopefully you'll be able to do the live band deal, and have some adult beverages available as well!
Take Care
