Mike are you shure the drive and steering rams are moving at slow speed ?? Some single eng boat's just track like that at slow speed. Have you looked over the transom with someone holding the wheel stright. I had a old searay with a merc #3 club foot drive and it tracked like that at slow speed only too, you would think the drive was not hook up to the steering. Just a thought.

" EH " was Walter Salkowitz's, it was white. I think the boat was a early 70's model.
Jeff Galante bought an orange sport from Bill Gazell called Great Adventure it was a back up race boat for him, when I bought his 28 Cigarette in 1977. " Berks Law ". The orange sport was originally called Magnun Force. Did you paint it purple ? or was that a different boat ?
Jeff bought " Gazpacho "....30 Mirage from Joe Barrow after the Magnum. I throttled it for a season with Joe when it was new. Then it got stolen from Jeff. He had no insurance.

Great hearing from you again. It was a different boat, not sure where the Orange Sport is now.
Mine was always purple/white from the factory, I brought it up from a guy named Pete Sherman that raced Can-Am cars in Maitland Fla. He also restored cars and planes.
thus the race number P-51 he also had a P-51 Mustang plane
I repainted the whole boat purple and white and then re did the interior and all the electrical and pumbing ,dropped the floor, etc, etc etc.
then change the name from Sea Wraith to Plum Crazy.
I Raced with Jeff in the Orange Magnum Sport a few times until he sold it and he got Joe's Mirage, We always like the Mirage alot. Was a great boat.
We painted the Mirage blue and called it "Outlaw" and we raced it a few times, yes it was stolen from East Dover Marina and the police in Ct. saw it in a barn , caught one of the guys and when they went back to the barn, the boat was gone and never seen again, as far as i Know
Then we got the 30 Velocity from Gene Whipp and Steven Stepp and raced that as "Airbrooke Limo". That was supposely the first V to break 100 MPH when Gene had it. The drives were changed so many times,, that there was like a 1 inch thick plate across the entire trans some.
Thank you
Jim
