No Cig,I think your wrong on mid to hy 70s,72 maybe.First his X looks to be 15 to 15 an half wich is to low to get the best out of it.Second unless he has the comp.at least at 12-1 and a darn good cam hes not going to make 600hp at 51-5200 rpms and thats as far as a T Bolt 4 will let you go,if thats what hes using. We raced in P4 with a 510 cast merlyn heads, ported, an,230 valves with 12-1 comp.MSD ign.an a crane 610 635 cam 110 racing fuil an the best we cold get was 78mph top end. When we moved to P5 we went with a 502,same heads an cam but 10-1 comp everything else the same, but 72 with a 26 Labbed B 1. Also whgt and bal. could be a real problem with tank under back seat,if front cabin is stripped out like I did with Vixen.Amarket1,not knocking your boat its a great looking boat, just saying a few things i found out the hard way with Vixen.

Mag27 Thanks for the info my X is if I remember correctly 15 1/2" but I will double check. As far as the motor goes running MSD not Thunderbolt. Motor is a bit over 10:1 and looking to be dynoed in the next few weeks so I will let you know. If the boat runs 72 that would be fine with me. Not planning on racing the boat just doing a few poker runs and pleasure use.
Thanks for the advice and I will keep yall posted on how it comes along.

amarket1,your X should be about perfect for a pleasure boat,if i remember right the 27 Bajas were using 14 an half back around 98or99 the last time i worked them and they always run good, not like a Mag but good.Worked on a lot of 502s and think its one the best all around eng.GM ever put out for marine use, other than some valve spring problems in the early ones you jest dont have any problems with them if you dont get too wild with the rpm.or fill them with salt water like they like to do down here.10-1 comp, good roller cam,850 holly, and a good exhaust system and 600hp should be no problem. That should get you in the low 70s real nice and be easy to dock too. I can run in the low 80s with the eng.i have in Vixen but mostly run in the 60s and i fight it every time i have to dock the darn thing.Stay in touch, curiose how you do on the dyno, and how the whole project comes together.

Mel thanks. Yeah I have CMI's for exhaust and not too crazy of a cam but it is a roller. I will get the specs and post them. Mark@ Precision Marine picked it out and did all the machine work for me. His shop is right next door to mine. I hear ya on the salt water as I had a small pin hole leak in one of my headers and filled up # 7 a while back. AS I said before I have no plans of racing the boat just a pleasure toy. Take care.
