1973 27 Sport Questions
I was hoping you guys could answer some questions regarding my 73 27' Sport. I have had it for about 5 years and am starting to get serious about a restoration.
1. Was the original hatch flat? I know that the rise in some of the hatches is for the Manifold's but was that an option? Or was it just standard on later models?
2. I am looking to restore my gauges to the original gauges. Someone told me that originally they were Stewart Warner gauges. Can someone please confirm this?
I am sure more questions will follow and I am sure these have all probably been answered in previous threads, but if so, I couldn't find them.
Thanks for your help.

The volvo hatches were flat and the TRS boats that came later had the rise in the back for the manifolds. There were optional custom race hatches and some boats with flat hatches had a couple scoops.
Early boats had Teleflex gauges but by '73 they should have had SW.
What hull number do you have?........look under the dash, it should be written?
Would love to see photos?.......if you don't know how to post just e-mail some to me.

That is a nice example of a pointed windscreen 27 Sport. The windshield on that boat has probably been cut down a bit......most were taller.
The pointed windscreen was optional......
