Nice!! What type of speed was you getting out of that monster? I have a starfire that I am building that I am putting a single BB in with an I.T.S. Bravo setup. It must of been one tight fit for those big blocks!!

They were my babies - I should have never of sold them .
The Mag ran 83-85 mph on gps . It was a rocket in the midrange , and ran through any water conditions .
I ran Glenwood log style exhaust , which were down sweep type - It made for tons of rooom in the engine compartment and allowed through transom tips .
the boat was purchasd by Magnum 2 years back . Why ? I am not sure .
It was then resold , and I believe Pantera is working on its restoration .

Good luck with your starfire - If you are running a single , you better be sure its a big one .

I remember the guys at Magnum's mold shop showing me picks of that boat while I was down their getting the new starfire deck for my boat. They said that they bought it to pull a mold off of the fairing I believe. This was back when they were hot and heavy about building a new 27. They were supposed to debut the new magnum at the Fort Lauderdale boat show this year but I guess that didn't happen.

When it comes to a single in a Magnum, believe it or not I have seen a few Magnums race boats run really well with a single big block and a stand off box. Boats like Vixen (P-4, & P5), Grumpy Old Men (A Class) and Deranged (P-5) all were very successful race boats. Also the guy's at the factory agreed with modern rigging and a good BB because the weight savings and with less transom weight, the boat creates less drag. This is what the boys at Magnum were explaining to me, but we will soon see.

That is a beauty! I have never seen anything like this in the Bay Area (except during boat races).
Of course, I usually hang around in the East Bay, where blow boats seems to be the rule, only because that is where my family lives.
I would s--t if I saw something like this heading out of the "Bersekley" marina!
You must be in Tiburon or thereabouts?

Georges,
The first picture of the boat is at the San Rafael Yacht Harbor in Marin County. It's the only time the Magnum has ever been in the Bay.
I usually have it at either of my vacation homes on Clear Lake or Lake Tahoe.
They would stone me if I pulled into Berkeley.
I actually live in the East Bay, but in Orinda.

Regards.
