We took the boat to jacksonville put it in the water it ran good.
Halfway in to the run strb. eng. lost 3000 rpm, then was ok for
a bit, then it did it again, so we headed back. It's down in Miami
at Lip-Ship. They think water in the gas.
July 4th weekend we will be in the run in Sarasota on Sat. There also is
a race there on Sunday SBI.
Glad to here you sold your boat..............whats next ?

Looking for a 34' Phantom, just looking. For now the primary boat is the 15' Boston Whaler (it hardly ever gets used, it sit in the garage with the Magnum). Sorry to hear about the engine, that sucks. Hope everything is OK. SRJ

Sorry to pirate the thread but I saw you guys talking about "Wild Turkey". I remember that boat well...very cool boat back in the day - glad to hear that Frank Lach still owns her! Here's a couple of pictures from Newport Beach CA back in '79 - I have more but they aren't scanned in yet. I'm the blonde kid looking down with the yellow "banana" jacket standing by my dad's boat "Top Banana". Paul Lesnewski (used to race with Stan Pike in "Inferno" and throttled for my dad for a few races) is standing next to me and my mom behind also in yellow w/ hat on.
Anyway you can see "Wild Turkey" pretty good. Second picture is Wild Turkey's engines...

Lucky Strike - I feel like an idiot...just realized that you are Steve Berk after reading this thread - I remember "Berk's Law" boat well. I'll have to dig out some old pictures for you guys.
PS - love the floating reporter pics LS Jr. does...maybe I'll see you guys out there someday - I live in Boca Bay Colony and keep my banana boat across the street from my house.

My father talked with its new owner just the other day, he is very happy with the boat. I did not get to the race, but my father was on one of checkpoint boats (a fishing boat at turn three or two?). Where you out in "Rolling Thunder?"

I went to Florida last week with my father, he bought a used 34' Phantom. The boat needs some mechanical work, but other than that it will be a good boat. Not as fast as the "Hairy Canary" for now, but that will change knowing my father.

How's that Cigarette running?

The Cigarette is in Miami at TNT, I broke a valve in one engine.

Putting two new 525 long blocks from Mercury in her.

Never got to use the Baja Rolling Thunder as the trans. blew a seal.
