When I owned my Velocity the Hydromotive prop was the way to go for topend and overall performance...at least it was back in the early 90's....is this still the case? Or does the Bravo 1 perform better on this hull?

I'm not real sure which one is best for your boat. Funny thing about props is they are all different, even among their own kind, and same goes for the boats. Generally speaking the Bravo 1 has good hole shot and better mid range speed than the Hydromotive, at the same RPM. However, the Hydromotives are usually faster on top end.
Also the hydromotives slip more on the bottom end which helps reduce the torque which can damage the drive under heavy loads.
It's a tough call and the only way to find what you really want is to try them both. Use each for a full day and you'll find what you like and dislike.
Good luck
