Default 40' Mid Oceans

Anybody remember these short lived beasts ?
I dug up some old pics of a quad i helped rig ( Skyway marina off 79th -Miami) and a fiver I flew out to "never never" land to change a few power heads and bring her home.
Fun time rebuilding 5 fuel pumps in a hotel room table in Georgetown - Seems the rubber stakes securing the fuel pump check valves didn't like alcohol in the fuel and brittled up plugging injectors = stuck motors.
We called them "welfare motors" back then- Black and don't wanna work
Got all 5 humming then the captain picked up a plastic bag on test run and stuck another powerhead (try hearing the hot horn over 5 of these pigs @ 5000 rpms)

Anymore pics or info on these boats? Also did Bob of Performance Powerboats buy the mold or just changed the name of the company? Looks like the cap may be a little different, hard to tell from these pics though. I always heard info/rumors that the Performance 40 was a stretched 38 Cig. Any truth to this??

Thanks

Classic Pics. I saw a Performance 40 in Nassau this week. It had a huge name on the side that said "bahamabahama.com". triple Yamaha Four Strokes with External tie bars and side mounted rams. The boat looked low with the triple four strokes.

Was Mid Ocean a less expensive midnight style boat? Good ride but slow seems like. Who owned the company Glen at Skyway?
