Default High Flow Intercooler Sand Strainer

Hardin Marine has stepped up to answer yet another boating dilemma. If you are one of the many people that has been plagued by clogged intercoolers or cooling systems and your sea strainer worked great on large debris but just doesn’t have the ability to stop elements as small as sand then the folks at Hardin Marine have developed the answer. This all new, patented Sand Strainer incorporates every easy to use feature imaginable.

The strainer is manufactured from hard anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum. Each unit features a clear see though body fitted with a self centering base. This unit uses a rugged and durable all stainless steel micron filter element to keep sand and small particles out while still allowing for maximum water flow. The housing offers two pressure ports so that a safety warning light and or pressure gauge can be incorporated. What happens if you actually fill the units to the top with sand well? They thought of that also, this unit feature dual check ball style bypasses built in just like your engines oiling system uses but we saved the best part for last. The entire unit can be serviced in less than a minute. A single function o-ring sealed mounting knob is spun off allowing the filter and body to be removed rinsed and re-installed in one motion. A bulkhead style of mounting bracket is included and an optional supercharger mounting bracket for both roots style 6/71 thru 14/71 and the 3.3l Whipple super charger is available.

Part #625-4620 Remote Mount $479.99
Part #625-4621 Vertical Head Mount $629.95
Part #625-4622 Supercharger Mount $549.99

Whats the order number on the website. Does this replace a standard sea strainer or is it an additional strainer after the sea strainer?

This would be used in addition to a regular sea strainer to filter the fine particles such as sand to prevent them from entering and clogging your intercooler.

This item is a brand new product that was just introduced at the Miami show and is not listed on out web site. I'll try and get it up on the site this week. If you need more information right away just call our tech department at 800-225-9871. The hours are Monday - Friday 9AM to 6PM and Saturdays 9AM to 3PM Pacific Standard Time. You can also call Hardin Marine directly at 877-900-7278 Eastern Standard Time.

Once again Mike and Scott have designed and marketed a truly custom piece that any of us with innercoolers can really use. I saw this sea strainer at Miami where they had it set up on a motor that had water running through it. The sea strainer was literally half filled with sand, but none of it was getting to the innercooler.
