We've built a couple of 43's w/ a short stagger.
Rides a little better in rough water and a couple MPH faster.
Trade off. The engine room /cockpit was designed for trip bravos or SBS 6's. The stagger pushes the engine into the back seat so we have to form an insert around it. You end up with three buckets instead of a bench seat.
Can I take a nap now? I can get you some more details when Regis is over.

So with the 700s and NXT drives, with the transmission in the extension box, would you be able to keep the back seat standard (bench back seat)?

We had trip 700's in one so that should fit without any problems.

So what does that boat do for top end and cruise with trip 700's and NXT's? What the word on the kind of rebuild schedule on the 700? Can it go 250 plus hours before any major work during "normal" use??

I see that one on OSO and may be interested... but first I have to wait for Donahue re-runs to end.

225-250 hour upper rebuild required, some can have issues with corrosion with the intake but all in all a great engine with lots of power. Going to a more agressive cam with full hydraulic rollers will extend time between rebuilds too.

BillR here on OSO can provide many more details as he's been through that and knows all the ins and outs.
