After I do some office work in the morning and find a new fuel pump drive shaft that I somehow managed to loose last night, and buy some fuel, I am going for a boat ride.

Oh, and clean it up a little.

We pulled the cam out and inspected it. THere were a couple lobes that broke in on a slightly wider pattern than the rest. I had a couple guys that are more experienced look at it, they said it looked great.

We stuck it back in (pulled the lifters in order) and fired it back up yesterday. Miss and rough spots smoothed out after I set the valves correctly.

Boat is buttoned up. I have to fabricate a power steering resevoir bracket today, and put some more fuel in it.

Other than a quick was, she is ready for a shakedown.

Shooting for this afternoon.

Will post some pics later hopefully.

Ordered a complete new Livorsi guage package, and some new accesories. Everything new is going in stainless and annodized blue.

Gonna look sharp.......

2 laps down, and a trip to Shell. Still together. Still needs some adjusting, but we are in business....

1 more trip down. Havn't pushed it to WOT yet, but i did get it to around 60 at 3700rpm.

I think the wheels are going to be to big. I have a tab that decided to take a dump. drive and tab indicators are still spurratic.

I am going to re run the valves in the morning and then try and find out if I have either a vacuum leak or a belt whining.

When I start to push it up past about 3400, I start to get a pretty pronounced whistle back there.

I don;t want to tempt fate if it is a vacuum leak and lean out a cylinder..

It is a great riding boat though. Stays under you nicely.

Can't wait to get the rest of the bugs worked out and new dash etc next week and get her down to sunny south FL.

I like the raceboat bolsters and helm layout.

Put thermostats and bi pass kits on today. Gonna run it tomorrow and see what happens. Pulled the lids off this evening and it looked like someone smuggled ranch dressing into there.

Engine no t making water because the oil in the pan was still nice and clean. Just a mega load of condensation under the lids.

Just cant get enough temp in them to boil it off.

I am experimenting. I have a 160 in one side with a 1/2" by[ass line and a 140 in the other side with a 3/8" bi pass line.

Lets see which one works better..

Drilled 1/8 hole in thermostats also in case they ever get stuck.

All right gents. Just getting in tonight. A few pics of where we are in the process. Fiberglass and fill is handled. It is not perfect, but at least now it is solid and doesn't look like someone tried to BBQ it.
