Question Diesel 50 in the classifieds

Out of sheer curiosity, what kind of speeds would this boat see with the smaller yanmars and B1's? Would the drives be an issue?

Must be pretty easy on fuel!

Well it's been in the classifieds for 6 months so the powertrain may be a large part of the reason why. Call Andy and ask him some questions. I would be interested to know what the WOT speed is.

Good looking boat though...

60 mph with the small Yanmars. Bob the Builder's got 76 mph with the 480's. Great price on Andy's boat though.

Thanks Double R, I really love the idea of a diesel offshore. Not sure if 60 WOT would do it for me though! Andy's sure is a lot of boat for the money, looks very clean.

Few more years, and I'll be shopping

I think triple 650hp Isotta Frascini diesels and Arnesons would be the ideal power package for that boat. Should run 90 with that.

I would love to know what it sounds like - have never heard a diesel used in a performance boat application etc.... (not muffled by being spit out at the waterline) I'd just be curious.

Just like my Truck on full throttle Reminds me of work... or REAL POWER Had to use some WOT today too to back up on a steep icy hill, just had to.. with a HazMat tanker....

Actually I like the sound of Turbocharged Diesel having the low grunt of power added with the whistle of the Turbo(s)..
