The open bow 25 that I built (600HP) runs 81 at 5700 with a stock 26 Bravo 1(13% slip). These numbers are verified on a laptop computer and GPS, so they are very accurate. Tachs can easily be off 100-200 RPM. So, this boat would be running 71 at 5000 RPM. Even pitch can vary significantly between 2 identical factory props. Weather and water conditions impact the speeds so much that it's hard to compare one boat to another unless you are running at the same time. I've seen weather conditions at 1000 ft. elevation (heat/humidity)that will slow a boat down as much as 5000 ft. elevation. The speed on my 28 runs from a low of 80 to a high of 87 on the same lake and same load, just different weather and water conditions.

Thanks for the insight on all the variables to consider!

In another thread (Mhale00 & Raylar Kit) using drive spacers was mentioned as a means to correct for a less than optimum 'X Factor' in the 28's hull design with the end result of reducing % slip. What are your thoughts on the need to adjust the stock drive depth for the 28 Heat and the 25 Rage for Bravo 1 props to reduce % slip?
