Default cooler dumping........solved!

Guys,
I'm sure you've all wrestled your/our coolers out of the cooler receptacle/storage box in your cabins. It's always fun when it's full of melted ice water @ 9lbs. per gallon.
I usually set mine on the sunlounge or swim platform and pull the plug.
After dumping mine in the sink (saving that trip to the transom) this weekend the wheels started spinning (which usually gets me in trouble) ............
Now all I have to do is pull a 1/2" drain plug , and bilge pump the water out (like the sink).
I drilled and installed a 1/2" ID plastic plug in the bottom of the cooler. Then used that as a pilot hole for a 5/8" plug installed directly beneath it in the cooler holder.
It worked well when I tested it, but still leaked a little around the "drain" onto the adjacent carpet. Today I inserted a 2" piece of 1/2" OD plastic tubing into the cooler drain, which inserts into the cooler holder drain.
Works perfectly with no leaks, and can be pulled out of the cooler to set it on flat surfaces, or it just bends if you forget .
I don't know if this wll work on Flames or Rages, but I think it will. Just make sure your stringers have drain holes drilled in them at the transom. That's how the sink drains, which gave me the idea for the cooler drain.
Now when I need to re-ice/dump melted icewater, all I have to do is pull the plug and dump in fresh ice !
Regards,
Steve

Guys,
I've been on vacation this week. Used the new cooler dump a couple of times. It is saving my back, and the boat's interior!
Just trash bag the dead soldiers , pull the plug, and you're ready for a repeat performance .................
Regards,
Steve

How come Dean? Just curious...

We love ours; especially when boat camping at Lake Powell or similar. That thing will keep ice rock solid no matter how hot it gets.
The other day when it was 100 degrees the group really enjoyed the surprise ice creams

its nice to see a professional take his beer seriously to keep his beer at the appropriate temperature. Nice job on the idea and install.

My cooler serves as a storage compartment. I bring along a small carry-on cooler. But Good thinking Steve.
