Used spray sticker and label remover. Very easy. Probably same as acetone but spray on a rag it wipes right off. Cover I think causes most of these marks!

Default Alarm problem!

Have 60 hours on my heat with HO496. Today got an intermitent alarm for the first time. Gauges looked OK. Oil level cool. Stayed on until underway after a minute or two. Then only came back on when trailering tonight? H20 Is just under 180 though. Oil pressure good! Help!

180 sounds high. Check owners manual for operating temp.
My 525 runs about 150

Default Thanks guys!

Looked into it this am and found the drive oil container nearly empty! Luckily had some and topped off. We'll see shortly if this was is but I am 99% certain and 100% hopeful this was it.

Questions:
Why would the alarm go off after I got on plane though?

How does the 525 perform?

Thanks again to you both!
Jeff

the drive oil was moving around when getting on plane and causing the warning buzzer to go off, this is common problem. dont worry about it you probably had air in the drive and as soon as you started it the bottle went down.

Default Alarm problem!

Thanks again. Still the only thing strange is where did this oil suddenly go? Since the drive oil was changed last fall for winterizing, I have put 40 hour on it this year so far before problem came about. Oh well.
Good thing is that all went well yesterday.
I did notice a little build up around edge of lower unit near the rear edge close to prop. Probably a seal already? Could still be under warranty though.
What engine are you running? Prop? Speed?

175-180 is normal for 496s.
Also,
this past weekend I got an alarm for drive oil. 10 minutes later the other motor's alarm went off for the same issue as well. This was after logging ~275 miles for the weekend so it appears that there is some loss or settling through use. Beings both did it I would think it's normal. I changed mine this Spring as well and use Redline HD Shockproof.

Don't ever get it on the white seat vinyl. It will then become pink seat vinyl.....permanently.
